COURSE DESCRIPTION
This highly competitive performing group stresses a high level of musicianship, artistry, showmanship, and marching and maneuvering. In addition, this course will emphasize technical skills; teamwork and the completion of a field show that will be performed at football games, district events, and field show tournaments. This unit also performs at school assemblies, pep rallies, and local parades.
ATTENDANCE
The success of the band and color guard program depends on your commitment, effort, and attendance at all rehearsals, along with your promptness at all functions. Calendars and schedules will be issued periodically. Please arrange your schedule to fulfill your obligations and to avoid any conflicts. If a conflict occurs, see Miss Hench IMMEDIATELY! Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is MANDATORY. The band and guard work as a team. When one member fails to show up, the team becomes weak.

MATERIALS
Privately and school owned instruments must be kept in good condition and maintained by the student. This includes flags, poles, rifles, sabers, and props. Any damage to or loss of school equipment/instruments will be the student’s responsibility. The borrowed instrument or equipment will be returned to the band room when requested by the director. All band and color guard uniforms must be treated with respect. Eating, drinking, vulgarity, profanity or public displays of affection especially while in uniform will not be tolerated. The uniform is a symbol of honor and should be treated as such. Band members are responsible to wear band shoes, gloves, under armor shirts, tight fitting black shorts, and black socks with the band uniform for tournaments and football games. Guard members will wear the designated uniform and shoes as designed by the instructor/director.
Band students are required to bring their music, appropriate practice shoes and a pencil to every rehearsal. Color guard must come to rehearsal in appropriate practice clothes. The entire regiment must bring dot books (drill) to every rehearsal. All students must wear tennis shoes at all rehearsals. Also, please place your music in a black, three-ring notebook with clear windows to hold music for rehearsals and concerts.

This uniform is worn at some football games, non competitive events and after performances at field show tournaments. $15.00 is required and is included as part of the Regiment student's fair-share contribution.
